My Crochet Journey: How It All Started

Hello everyone,

I’m Nora — originally from Hungary, and I’ve been living in London since 2016.

My passion for crochet began with my grandmother, who patiently taught me how to use a hook, form chains and stitches, and follow patterns to bring beautiful creations to life. Together, we made all sorts of things — from cozy hats and headbands to scarves, blankets, pumpkins, and baskets. Those early memories are what truly inspired me to keep creating.

During the pandemic and lockdowns, crochet became much more than just a hobby — it became my escape and source of comfort. I started making handmade pieces for my family and friends, experimenting with different designs and yarns. I spent countless hours watching tutorials, improving my technique, and finding my own creative style.

What started as a small passion soon turned into a dream — to share my love for crochet with others. That’s how Nora OnTheHook was born!

Today, my main focus is on crochet handbags, which can be customized to your liking. I also create a variety of accessories like hats, headbands, scrunchies, and home décor pieces — each one made with care, patience, and a touch of love.
